Fragrance of the day: Usher for women
I haven't made a set in a while, but I felt inspired today and I really like the idea of doing all black and white with a pop of color. Lately, I've been loving life! I'm graduated from college and am getting ready to move to another state with friends in about a month. It's really exciting! It's a whole new chapter of my life that I'm getting ready to start and I can't wait!
Now I'm going to do a spring/summer tag post. I know it's a little late for the spring part, but I liked the questions.
1. Favourite spring/summer nail polish?
I never used to be a nail polish lover, it was only recently that I’ve becoming really addicted to trying out colors and designs. I think it has a lot to do with the fact that for 3 years I worked as a brand model at Abercrombie & Fitch and we were not allowed to wear nail polish on our fingers (and on our toes it could only be shades of pink or red). Anyway, Lilacism by Essie has been my favorite so far. It’s such a pretty lavender color. I’m usually not even into the girlier colors, but for some reason I’ve been loving this one for the past few weeks.
2. What is your must-have lip color this spring?
I’ve really surprised myself with this answer. I’m usually into wearing matte or muted lips and during the summer I usually stick with coral. However, I’ve really been loving the bright lips trend. There have been a few lip products that I’ve been using regularly. I usually really hate Covergirl products, but lately they have been coming out with a few things I’ve really liked. One has been the Covergirl Blast Flipstick in perky; I get compliments every time I wear it by guys and girls. I also have been wearing the lipstick/lipgloss combo I’m wearing today frequently.
3. Show us your favourite summer dress!
I wish I could actually show it too you, but I can’t. I love dresses for the summer and I usually stick with basic dresses that I can make unique with accessories. However, one dress that I love for summer is by Quiksilver. It is a shorter cut and has very think tan and navy stripes with a cut out in the back. I bought it last summer to go to Hawaii and it quickly became my go-to dress for summer.
4. Favourite spring scarf/accessory?
I have two answers for this question. The first one is a silk scarf from Abercrombie and Fitch. It is a navy/red/green oversized floral print and is the square scarf so it looks cute both around my neck and as a head wrap. Another thing I have been loving is dainty jewelry. I used to love statement necklaces, but I find the simple stuff now much more chic, but you can also layer them for an edgier look.
5. What spring trend(s) are you most excited about this year? (Make-up, fashion or both!)
I have so many answers for this question! For starters, I really love the bandeau/bralette look under muscle tees. My favorite muscle tee I have says “I love you to the moon and back” and is by Brandy Melville (a lot of people apparently have this top). I also love that camo has become a viable fashion print and I’m excited to experiment with it this summer. The last spring/summer trend I like is that black and white is still in fashion (instead of switching to all bright colors). I’ve said before, but I really like neutral colors, I’m not really into brights, so I’m glad that it’s still in style.
6. Favourite spring/summer scent?
My favorite scent all year round is Burberry Brit, I absolutely love it. However, recently I’ve been wearing DKNY pure a lot. I’m not really into floral scents (with some exception) so my answers may not seem very “summery” haha.
7. What is spring like where you live?
I live in the northwest, so our springs are pretty mild. It’s usually pretty cold and even snows periodically right up to May. Not very springy….
8. What's your favourite thing about spring?
I love that the weather finally gets warm after a very cold winter!
9. Are you a spring cleaner?
I really don’t, but I wish I did!
10. Any plans for spring/summer break or an upcoming vacation?
Now that I’m all graduated, it’s not really summer break, it’s just summer! I’m moving in about a month to another state so the next few weeks will be busy with getting those details hammered out. After that, I’m looking forward to BBQs and concerts with friends!
